Someone once said that being a journalist is like having a front row seat to history. Well, I've been sitting in that seat for more than 15 years and I want to share the view with you. Front Row will keep you informed of what's really going on in your community and across the nation. Send news tips, pictures, or videos to michellemccalope@gmail.com. I'd love to hear from you!

National Police Week
As part of National Police week, the names of 387 fallen officers will be added to the National Law Enforcement Officer Memorial in Washington, D.C. Recently, a memorial service was held in Austin to honor fallen officers. Beaumont Police Officer Lisa Beaulieu was among those recognized. Beaumont Detectives Aaron and Tina Lewallen participated in the ceremony, along with other Beaumont officers. They also brought Beaulieu's mother to the ceremony so she could participate as well. Beaulieu was struck and killed by a drunk driver in April 2007. She was 36 years old. Detective Tina and Officer Beaulieu were best friends.
National Police Week is a time set aside to honor those who put their lives on the line everyday for your protection. Thanks to the men and women in blue. We appreciate you!
