Someone once said that being a journalist is like having a front row seat to history. Well, I've been sitting in that seat for more than 15 years and I want to share the view with you. Front Row will keep you informed of what's really going on in your community and across the nation. Send news tips, pictures, or videos to michellemccalope@gmail.com. I'd love to hear from you!

After the Storm
I went to Galveston this weekend for the first time since Hurricane Ike. The city is getting back to normal, but you can see it's a very slow process. Locals say business is no where near where it used to be, but there are signs of hope. The goods news is there's lot of new construction which means people are rebuilding and making plans to return. Still, there are very vivid reminders of the storm and its power like this truck that is stuck on what used to be pier!
