The 100 Black Men of Greater Beaumont held a scholarship banquet recently. Scholarships were awarded to deserving high school students in Beaumont. The president of Texas Southern University, Dr. John Rudley, served as the keynote speaker. Guests included Bobbie Patterson, Nicole Murray, Charles Paul, Carol Dixon, City Councilwoman Get Williams, Vernon Durden, Greg Fontenot, Commissioner Bo Alfred, and Councilmen Jamie Smith and Audwin Samuel.
