Someone once said that being a journalist is like having a front row seat to history. Well, I've been sitting in that seat for more than 15 years and I want to share the view with you. Front Row will keep you informed of what's really going on in your community and across the nation. Send news tips, pictures, or videos to michellemccalope@gmail.com. I'd love to hear from you!

Getting ribbed and toasted
Total Refinery Manager Pat Avery danced like Tina Turner and Judge John Stevens acted like a fly. Just a few of the highlights from the Champagne and Ribs event at Cowboy Harley Davidson on Thursday. Avery and Stevens were honored for their contributions to the community. Hundreds of people attended the event which raises money for the Julie Roger's Gift of Life Prostate Cancer Program. Of course there were plenty of fall-off-the-bone ribs, champagne, and good music which all added up to a good time! Those in attendance included Regina Rogers, Anne Bradley, Audwin Samuel, Bo Alfred, Phyllis Geans, Vernon and Johnnie Durden, Sonny Perkins, Mike Elrod, Randy Sonnier, Carl Griffith, Nicole Murray, Ashley Gaston, Kelli Phillips, Alea Greer, Morris Carter, Larry Huggins, Paul and Alberta Jones, Lamonte Louis, W.L. Pate, Judge Bob Wortham, Judge Duce Jones, and Paul Bergen.
