Robert Reid Running for JP Precinct 2


Citizens of Port Arthur residing in Precinct 2 will soon have a decision to make as local school administrator Robert Reid announces his candidacy for Justice of the Peace, Pct. 2 when Bob Morgan retires in December 2010.
Robert Reid will officially announce his candidacy at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, October 8 on the steps of the Jefferson County Sub Courthouse in Port Arthur.
Reid carries more than 20 years of experience in public education with roles an educator as well as in administration—12 of those years in the Port Arthur School District. He has been involved in the JP courts as he continues to improve the issue of truancy and the disciplinary problems within the Port Arthur schools. Reid also possess years of experience in controlling a budget and vows to maintain a safe and effective procedure concerning all operation aspects as Justice of the Peace.
“Judge Morgan is one of my main inspirations for seeking the office of Justice of the Peace,” says Reid. “Precinct 2 needs a leader with integrity, intelligence, empathy, sound judgment and solid Christian ethics just as Judge Morgan has. I have these personal qualities,” Reid continues.
