LU Women's Empowerment Conference

Preparing young ladies for the future. That was the theme of Lamar University's Women's Empowerment Conference Saturday at the Student Setzer Center. A diverse group of speakers, myself included, shared their thoughts on careers, achieving balance in life, pampering yourself, breaking stereotypes, and getting fiscally fit. Some of the presenters included Pat Avery, Gwen Ambres, and Cheryl Black Fitzpatrick. Congrats to Antoinette Mays, Vernice Monroe and the rest of the crew for a great conference!

  1. The conference was very inspiring and our Keynote Speaker Evangelist Georgia Ealy challenged us to move forward and live our own best life.

  2. I want to thank everyone that participated in the LU Women's Empowerment Conference from the committee, presenters, panelists, volunteers, Chartwell's staff, Print shop, Setzer staff, attendees and just everyone that contributed in any way. And a special thanks to all that prayed with and for us to make this event a success for all. To the ladies that attended I challenge you to make a step to not only be empowered to live your own best life but help someone else. Be blessed. We thank you Michelle very much.
