Another Black History First in SETX

Kevin Roy, a local businessman and active volunteer in the community, recently became the first African American to serve as President of the Beaumont Rotary Club in the organization’s nearly 100-year history. He was sworn in Wednesday during the club's meeting at the MCM Elegante.
"It's certainly an honor," Roy tells Front Row. "I think there are a lot of individuals that have gone before me and paved the path for this to happen. I’m indebted to those individuals and hope that I can continue to carry the torch and pave the way for others to come after me.”
Beaumont Rotary is one of the world’s oldest service clubs with about 325 members. It is an affiliate of Rotary International, a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders which provides humanitarian service and encourages high ethical standards in all vocations. It has more than than 1.2 million members in more than 33,000 clubs worldwide.

Roy is president and CEO of Interflow Factors Corporation. He’s been a member of Rotary for 15 years. He plans to continue to help make the organization more diverse and increase public awareness of and participation in Rotary activities.
Roy is a great guy! Congratulations! We’re very proud of you!
