Someone once said that being a journalist is like having a front row seat to history. Well, I've been sitting in that seat for more than 15 years and I want to share the view with you. Front Row will keep you informed of what's really going on in your community and across the nation. Send news tips, pictures, or videos to michellemccalope@gmail.com. I'd love to hear from you!

Cathedral of Faith Celebrates 20 Years
Sunday was a very special day for members of the Cathedral of Faith Baptist Church in Beaumont. The church celebrated its 20th anniversary. The celebration included a candle lighting ceremony to recognize founding members who had passed away. Rev. Durward Minor of the Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Beaumont preached at the 8 o'clock service, while Rev. Donald Ray Frank of New Hope Baptist Church in Port Arthur preached at the 11 o'clock service.
Cathedral was organized on Nov. 16, 1989 by Rev. Albert Roy Tibbs Jr. It was first housed at the Community Funeral Chapel on Lucas. Since that time, the church has grown to include a family life center, an education building, and a new sanctuary which opened last year.
Pastor Delbert Allen Mack who has headed the church for 16 years says he's been blessed to have obedient members who are always ready and willing to support his vision. I'm proud to be a member of Cathedral. Congratulations on 20 years!
