The stage is set for next year for the second annual "La Soiree" fundraiser for Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas' Dauphin Cancer Screening and Prevention Center. The committee held its first meeting on Thursday to kick things off. The chairs are Joyce and Darrell Jacob and Chuck and Becky Mason. The event will be held on Jan. 30 at the Beaumont Civic Center. Last year's event raised more than $110,000. Those attending included Evelyn Lord, Kristie Young, Gay-Lynne Jone, and Irene Ramirez. I'm also on the committee for the second time.
