About 500 people waited in line for hours on Thursday for a voucher to receive free food and personal care items. The items will be distributed on Thursday Sept. 10 by NBA Player and Port Arthur Native Stephen Jackson and Cleveland Cavaliers Shaquille "Shaq" O'Neal. The vouchers had to be picked up in advance. Some 800 vouchers were distributed, half on Tuesday and the other half on Thursday by Stephen's Mother, Judyette Jackson. The event is being sponsored by Stephen's Jack 1 Foundation and Larry Jones of the Feed the Children Program. Some residents left unhappy when they were told by the Port Arthur Policeman that they needed to go home because there were no more vouchers. Oh well! The early bird gets the worm right?
