Someone once said that being a journalist is like having a front row seat to history. Well, I've been sitting in that seat for more than 15 years and I want to share the view with you. Front Row will keep you informed of what's really going on in your community and across the nation. Send news tips, pictures, or videos to michellemccalope@gmail.com. I'd love to hear from you!

Beaumont Police 5K Run/Walk
More than 350 people participated in the Beaumont Police Department's Second Annual 5K Run to Remember. The run included a diverse group of people, from the young to the old and various ethnicities.I had a great time! It was a great way to kickoff the weekend! We ran down Main street and in front of the federal courthouse and back. Afterwards, there was plenty of water and oranges for everyone! All proceeds raised will help fund the Beaumont Police Officer's Association.

Great event! This was my first "pay to run" event, and because everything was planned so well and had lots of support, I'm hooked. I think this particular event could eventually become the biggest fund raiser for BPOA as running is becoming more popular and BPD does a great job at anything they do.
ReplyDeleteAre they planning a race/walk for this year (2011)? If so, contact the Sea Rim Striders and they will post it on their schedule for you.
