Gubernatorial Candidate Visits SETX

Houston Mayor Bill White who recently announced he is running for Texas Governor was in town Saturday. The Texas Coalition of Black Democrats hosted the mayor during a luncheon at the Beaumont Club. A group of delegates from Dallas were also on hand. Mayor White is running as the democratic candidate. He'll likely face Republican Challengers Governor Rick Perry or Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison in the general election. "I need your help. This is going to be a fight," Mayor White told the small crowd that was gathered. "But I think Texas is worth fighting for."
Attendees included Rep. Joe Deshotel, Georgine Guillory, Jason Apodaca, Beverly Hatcher, Gilbert Adams, Jackie Savoy, Mayor Bill White's son, Will, and White's friend and former chief of staff Terence Fontaine.
